Barry began shooting at 14 years of age and won the West Australian Queen’s Prize and Grand Aggregate in 1982 at the age of 21. He has represented Australia on three previous occasions; the 1985 Palma tour to Bisley, the 1986 Empire Match in Adelaide, South Australia and the 2005 Australia Match in Brisbane.
Barry has won Queen’s badges in Australia, Bisley and New Zealand, and in 2006 won the Royal Kaltenberg Cup at the National Queen’s in Brisbane. He has represented Western Australia many times and has been the Captain-Coach of the Under 25 West Australian State Team.
Barry lives in the town of Harvey, which is approximately 150 kilometres South of Perth in Western Australia. He comes from a shooting family, sharing his passion with his grandfather, father, uncle and son. He is married to Marie and they have two children, Ryan 22, (Coach of the Under 25 Palma Team), and Nicole 20. Barry is self-employed in his engineering business that is mostly dedicated to manufacturing and repairing earthmoving equipment.
