George started shooting at 30 years of age, which was also the year he married Jan. Now a little older, and with three children, he maintains his passion for the “religion” of target rifle shooting.
George first entered the Queensland team in 1986 and was a regular member of the state team until about 2000 after which he was absent from competitive shooting for a number of years to support his children’s sporting activities. With the children through school and old enough to manage their own endeavours, George toured New Zealand with the Australian Palma Team in 1995 and was a member of the Australian Team in the Australia Match in Hobart in 1997. He has won many badges in lead-up shoots, Queens and Grand Aggregates.
Away from the range George is the principal solicitor of his own legal firm specialising in Commercial and Property Development and is continually involved in developments. When not working or shooting George enjoys the pleasures of family life, travelling and social outings with friends. |
