Ron first learned to shoot on the family dairy and beef farm near Kempsey, in New South Wales. After joining Kempsey Rifle Club in 1984, his competitive fullbore teams career began in 1985 with his selection in the Under 25 Country Team. He followed up with his debut in the Under 25 State Team in 1986 and Under 25 Australian Team in 1988.
Ron graduated to open teams representing the Army and New South Wales on numerous occasions in Australia, Bisley and New Zealand.
Ron is an active member of his club being the secretary of both the Kempsey Rifle Club and the Macleay Regional Shooting Complex. He also supports the broader shooting movement in his role as the New South Wales Rifle Association Website Administrator and host.
By profession Ron is an Electrical Technical Officer who controls Australia’s largest power supply network for Country Energy. He is married with two children, Maddison and Liam.
